The Chang'e-6 probe is launched by a Long March-5 rocket from the Wenchang Space Launch Site on May 3. The returner of Chang'e-6 returns to Earth on June 25, bringing back the world's first samples collected from the moon's far side. It lands in Siziwang Banner, north China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region.

The 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China convenes its third plenary session in Beijing from July 15 to 18, 2024. A total of 199 members and 165 alternate members of the Central Committee attend the session.
