The CPC Central Committee’s Political Bureau holds a meeting in Liping, Guizhou, and passes a resolution, based on Mao Zedong’s proposal, to abandon the plan to rendezvous with the Second and Sixth Army Groups of the Red Army in northwestern Hunan and instead march to northern Guizhou. Earlier, the head of the CPC Central Committee has held an emergency meeting in Tongdao, Hunan, to discuss changes in the plan.
