The Red Army in northern Shaanxi, under the command of Liu Zhidan and others, crushes the enemy’s military encirclement and suppression and makes the Shaanxi-Gansu Border and the Northern Shaanxi bases into one, forming the Shaanxi-Gansu Revolutionary Base (also known as the Northwest Revolutionary Base). The Shaanxi-Gansu Revolutionary Base is the only complete revolutionary base left in the country intact in the late Agrarian Revolutionary War, providing a stopover for the Central Committee of the Party and the Long March of the Red Army units, and a starting point for the main forces of the Eighth Route Army reorganized from the Red Army to go to the counter-Japanese frontline after the outbreak of the Chinese War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression.
