The First and Fourth Front Red Armies rendezvous in Huining, Gansu. On October 22, the First and Second Front Red Armies rendezvous at Jiangtaibu, Longde, Gansu (now part of Xiji, Ningxia). So far, the three main forces of the Red Army have rendezvoused. The Long March is a great event in the history of humankind, a great expedition of ideals and beliefs, testing the truth, awakening the people, and opening up new horizons. The victory of the Long March is the key to turning the tide of the Chinese revolution. The Long March gives rise to the great Long March Spirit, which is defined as putting the fundamental interests of the people and the Chinese nation above everything else, and maintaining firm revolutionary ideals and beliefs. It is the firm belief that a just cause is bound to triumph and having the courage to fear no difficulty or sacrifice when it comes to saving the country and its people. It is independence and initiative, seeking truth from facts, and proceeding from practice. It is taking the interests of the whole nation into account, remaining disciplined, and working closely together. It is standing with the people in weal and woe, and struggling tenaciously side by side.
