The advancement of women has always been integral to the cause of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and the Chinese people. Since the 18th National Party Congress in 2012, the CPC Central Committee, with General Secretary Xi Jinping at its core, has emphasized the development and empowerment of women as part of the broader progress of the Party and the nation. It has strengthened the Party’s leadership over work for women, remained committed to a socialist path of women’s development with Chinese characteristics, and formulated plans to reform women’s federations. This volume is designed to assist officials and the public in studying, understanding, and applying General Secretary Xi’s key statements on women, children, and the role of women’s federations. Covering 8 thematic areas, it features 174 carefully selected passages from over 50 important documents. These include reports, speeches, notes, congratulatory messages, directives, and written comments made by General Secretary Xi between November 29, 2012 and March 6, 2023. Some of these statements appear in print here for the first time.
