Comprehensive and strict Party self-governance is a distinctive characteristic of the Party’s governance in the New Era.

Since the 18th CPC National Congress, the Party Central Committee, with General Secretary Xi Jinping at its core, has integrated ensuring full and rigorous Party self-governance into the four-pronged comprehensive strategy. It has courageously confronted the major risks and prominent issues within the Party, rectified disciplinary issues with a tenacious will, combated corruption, and eradicated serious internal threats within the Party and the nation. The political life within the Party has been rejuvenated, the political ecology within the Party has significantly improved, and the Party’s creativity, cohesion, and combat effectiveness have been notably enhanced. The unity within the Party has been further solidified, the relationship between the Party and the people has markedly improved, and the Party has become more robust through revolutionary tempering, exuding new vitality. This has therefore provided a strong political guarantee for the development of the Party and the country.

The series of important statements delivered by Xi Jinping on ensuring full and rigorous Party self-governance are visionary, rich in substance, and profound. They are of vital importance for us to stay true to our original aspiration and founding mission, enhance the Four Consciousnesses, strengthen the Four-Sphere Confidence, adhere to the Two Upholds, unwaveringly ensure full and rigorous Party self-governance, lead the new great social revolution with the self-reform of the Party in the New Era, build a modern socialist country in all respects, and realize the Chinese Dream of National Rejuvenation.

To assist officials and the public in studying, understanding, and mastering Xi Jinping’s significant statements, under the leadership of the Central Leadership Group of Strengthening the Party, the Institute of Party History and Literature of the CPC Central Committee and the Secretariat of the Central Leadership Group of Strengthening the Party have compiled this current vol the based on Full and Rigorous Party Self-Governance (2016) by Xi Jinping.

The content of this volume is excerpted from over 220 significant documents like reports, speeches, articles, and instructions by Xi Jinping from November 15, 2012, to April 27, 2021. It is divided into 12 topics, comprising a total of 788 statements, some of which are being published here for the first time.
