The book on The Party's Youth Work by Xi Jinping, edited by the Institute of Party History and Literature of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, contains 60 major articles on the Party's youth work written from May 2013 to May 2022. The main articles are as follows.

“Speech at a Ceremony Marking the Centenary of the Communist Youth League of China" was delivered on May 10, 2022. The speech comprehensively reviews the youth course of the Communist Youth League's unswervingly listening to and following the Party over the past 100 years. "Speech to Outstanding Young People from All Walks Of Life" was delivered on May 4, 2013. According to the speech, history and current events tell us that if our young people have ideals and the resolve to act on them, our country will have a future, our nation will have hope and we will have an inexhaustible supply of strength to achieve our development goals. The Chinese Dream is a dream about history, the present, and the future; is the dream of the country and the nation but also of every Chinese person; and is a dream of our generation, but even more so, a dream of the younger generations. The rejuvenation of the Chinese nation will eventually become a reality through the successive struggles of the youth. Looking to the future, we can see that our young generation has a promising future and they will accomplish much. It is a law of history that the waves of the Yangtze River from behind drive on those ahead, and it is the responsibility of young people to surpass their elders. Today’s young people need to boldly assume the heavy responsibilities that the times impose on them, aim high, be practical and realistic, and put their youthful dreams into action in the course of realizing the Chinese Dream of National Rejuvenation.

“Children Should Have Their Aspirations and Dreams" is an excerpt from the speech delivered on May 29, 2013, when celebrating the International Children's Day with Chinese children. According to the speech, the realization of our dreams depends on our generation and the next generation. Children should have their aspirations and dreams. They should love to learn and work and love their motherland. They should have a good and all-around moral, intellectual, physical, and aesthetical grounding and grow up to be useful for the development of their motherland. “Unite with and Lead the Youth to Win More Glory in the Journey toward the Rejuvenation of the Chinese Nation" is a speech delivered on June 20, 2013, in a conversation with the new leaders of the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League of China. According to the speech, representing, winning and relying on the youth is an important guarantee for our Party to keep moving from victory to victory. At present, the Party and the Chinese people are working hard to achieve the goals defined at the Party's 18th National Congress, and are marching toward the realization of the Chinese Dream of National Rejuvenation. “The Opportunity to Make Innovations and Realize Dreams" is an excerpt from a speech made at the centenary celebration event of the Western Returned Scholars Association on October 21, 2013. According to the speech, Students studying overseas should integrate their love of the country, their aspiration to make it strong and their efforts to serve it. “Realizing the Chinese Dream Depends on the Youth and Can Also Make Them Successful" is an excerpt from the writings written from December 2013 to February 2022. According to the article, the new era is an era of dream chasers and an era for young people to make their dreams come true. The young generation should have ambitious ideals, love the great motherland and assume the responsibility of the times. They should work hard, improve their ability and refine moral cultivation so as to become people of noble morality and useful to society. “Youth Should Consciously Practice Core Socialist Values" is a speech made at a symposium for teachers and students at Peking University on May 4, 2014. For a nation or a country, the most lasting and deep-seated power is the core values commonly recognized by the whole of society. Reaching consensus on values reflecting the common understanding of the Chinese people ensure that all the people forge ahead with one heart and one mind is of great importance to the future of the country and the happiness and wellbeing of the people. Young people are in the period of formation and establishment of values, and it is very important to form values in this period. Young people should study diligently to acquire true knowledge. They should cultivate morality, strengthen moral cultivation, and focus on moral practice. They should be discerning between truth and falsehood and good at making choices. They should also loyal, honest and hardworking.

‘’Actively Cultivating and Practicing Core Socialist Values from a Young Age" is a speech made when presiding over a symposium at the Minzu Primary School in Haidian District, Beijing on May 30, 2014. According to the speech, for any idea to be established in the whole of society and work in the long run, it should start from children. For children to cultivate and practice the core socialist values, we must take their age and characteristics into consideration and ensure that they remember the requirements, worship role models, start from an early age, and accept help. They should memorize the basic content of the core socialist values and make them a way of thinking and acting and constantly deepen the understanding of them in light of learning, life and other practices. “Vocational Education Is an Important Way for the Young People to Become Successful" is an instruction made on May 30, 2014 on accelerating the development of vocational education. According to the instruction, vocational education is an important part of the national education system and human resources development, and shoulders the important responsibility of cultivating diverse talents, passing on technical skills, and promoting employment and entrepreneurship. We should establish a correct view of talent, and strive to train hundreds of millions of high-quality workers and technically skilled personnel. We should ensure that vocational schools serve development and promote employment, and strive to build a vocational education system with Chinese characteristics. We should increase support for vocational education in rural areas, areas with concentrations of ethnic minorities, poor areas, and strive to give everyone the opportunity to excel in life.

“Cultivating a Large Group of Young Scientists and Technicians" is an excerpt from the writings written in the period from June 2014 to May 2022. “Congratulatory Letter to the Plenary Session of 12th National Committee of the All-China Youth Federation and the 26th Congress of the All-China Students’ Federation was written on July 24, 2015. According to the letter, the cause of the All-China Youth Federation and the All-China Students’ Federation is an important part of the Party's cause interaction with social organizations, and their organizations must constantly maintain and enhance their political consciousness, become more advanced, and better represent the people. They should constantly promote their own reform, earnestly perform their functions, and better organize and mobilize the youth to follow the Party firmly.

“Seeing Children from Poor Families Feel the Warmth of the Party and the Government" is an excerpt from the speech delivered at the Central Conference on Poverty Alleviation and Development on November 27, 2015. According to the article, the best way to help the poor is to raise their educational level. Education is the fundamental way to prevent poverty being passed down from generation to generation. We should direct attention to the health of children, improving healthcare in kindergartens, primary schools and secondary schools. In the new era, our young people should make it their mission to contribute to national rejuvenation and aspire to become more proud, confident, and assured in their identity as Chinese people so that they can live up to the promise of their youth and the expectations of our times, our Party, and our people.
