The issues related to agriculture, rural areas, and rural residents are fundamental to the economy and people’s livelihood.

Since the 18th CPC National Congress, the Party Central Committee with General Secretary Xi Jinping at its core has prioritized the resolution of the issues related to agriculture, rural areas, and rural residents, won the battle against poverty, and brought about a historic resolution to the problem of absolute poverty in China. It has implemented the rural revitalization strategy, promoting historic achievements and transformations in agriculture and rural areas. Agricultural production capacity has significantly improved, farmers’ income has steadily increased, rural living standards have notably enhanced, and the rural landscape has undergone a remarkable transformation, providing crucial support for the comprehensive advancement of the Party and the country’s cause.

Xi Jinping has addressed the issues related to agriculture, rural areas, and rural residents from a grand historical perspective, delivering a series of significant statements that scientifically answer major theoretical and practical questions in work on agriculture, rural areas, and rural residents, providing a roadmap and fundamental principles for carrying out this work in the New Era.

Xi Jinping’s important statements on work on agriculture, rural areas, and rural residents are an integral part of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era. They hold great guiding significance for promoting the Party’s full recognition of the importance and urgency of carrying out work on agriculture, rural areas, and rural residents in the new stage of development, mobilizing the whole Party and society to comprehensively advance rural revitalization, accelerate the modernization of agriculture and rural areas, build a modern socialist country in all respects, and realize the Chinese Dream of National Rejuvenation.

To assist officials and the public in deepening their understanding of Xi Jinping’s significant statements on work on agriculture, rural areas, and rural residents, we have compiled these statements into this current volume.

This volume includes 61 manuscripts from Xi Jinping on work on agriculture, rural areas, and rural residents since the 18th CPC National Congress, some of which are being published here for the first time.
