Since the 18th CPC National Congress, the Party Central Committee, with General Secretary Xi Jinping at its core, has been dedicated to the holistic design of the four-pronged comprehensive strategy. Through their personal commitment and exemplary leadership, they have steadfastly made comprehensive moves to strengthen Party self-governance. They have remained committed to combining efforts on ideological work and institution building to strengthen the Party, focusing on rectifying Party conduct, strictly punishing corruption, purifying the political ecology within the Party, and fostering a new atmosphere in the political activity of the Party. These efforts have garnered the confidence and support of the Party and the people, and provided an important guarantee for ushering in a new phase in the Party and national affairs.

Xi Jinping's series of important statements on comprehensive moves to strengthen Party self-governance are visionary, rich in content, and profound in thought. They hold great significance for us to deeply understand the major implications of comprehensive moves to strengthen Party self-governance, accurately grasp the basic requirements and key tasks of such governance, firmly enhance political integrity, develop a better understanding of the general picture, follow the core leadership of the CPC Central Committee and act consistently with CPC Central Committee policy, unwaveringly uphold the authority of the Party Central Committee and its centralized, unified leadership, continue to promote comprehensive moves to strengthen Party self-governance, and ensure that the Party unites and leads the people to continuously create a phase in the cause of building socialism with Chinese characteristics.

To assist officials and the public in learning, understanding, and mastering Xi Jinping's important statements on comprehensive moves to strengthen Party self-governance, and to facilitate and promote the study and dissemination of the guiding principles from the Sixth Plenary Session of the 18th CPC Central Committee, we have compiled this current volume.

The content of this volume is derived from over 80 important documents, including speeches and articles by Xi Jinping from November 15, 2012, to October 27, 2016. It is divided into ten topics, encompassing a total of 371 important statements, many of which are being published here for the first time.
