The rural revitalization strategy is a significant decision made by the Party Central Committee, with General Secretary Xi Jinping at its core, based on the overall interests of the Party and the state, aiming to achieve the Two Centenary Goals and to respond to the aspirations of hundreds of millions of rural residents for a better life. The issues concerning agriculture, rural areas, and rural residents are fundamental to the economy and people’s livelihood. The strength of agriculture, the beauty of rural areas, and the wealth of rural residents directly affect the sense of fulfillment and happiness of hundreds of millions of rural residents, and determine the quality of our country’s moderately prosperous society in all respects and socialist modernization.

Since the 18th CPC National Congress, Xi Jinping has consistently prioritized resolving the issues relating to agriculture, rural areas, and rural residents, continuously promoting theoretical, practical, and institutional innovation in this work, leading to historic achievements in agricultural and rural development. The series of important statements by him on agriculture, rural areas, and rural residents’ work are visionary, rich in content, and profound in thought. They offer significant guidance for us to enhance our sense of urgency and mission in implementing the rural revitalization strategy, to advance work related to agriculture, rural areas, and rural residents in the New Era with greater determination, clearer goals, and more effective measures, and to write a new chapter on agriculture, rural areas, and rural residents in national rejuvenation.

To assist officials and the public in studying, understanding, and mastering Xi Jinping’s important statements on work related to agriculture, rural areas, and rural residents, we have compiled this current volume.

The content of this volume, drawn from over 70 important documents including speeches, reports, instructions, and congratulatory messages by Xi Jinping from December 2012 to March 2019, is organized into 11 topics, totaling 286 statements, many of which are being published here for the first time.
