It has vigorously fostered and enacted core socialist values, raised the moral integrity of the entire nation, and fostered the comprehensive cultural prosperity and rapid development of cultural industries. These steps provide intellectual assurance, motivation, and moral nourishment for the realization of the Chinese Dream of National Rejuvenation.

Xi Jinping’s series of significant statements on the development of socialist culture are visionary, rich in content, and profound in thought. They are of immense guiding significance for strengthening Marxism’s guiding role in ideology, consolidating the common intellectual foundation of the entire Party and the people for unity and struggle, accelerating the development of a strong socialist country, enhancing national cultural soft power, affirming cultural confidence, promoting the balanced development and mutual reinforcement of material and cultural-ethical progress, securing the decisive victory in building a moderately prosperous society in all respects, achieving the Two Centenary Goals, and realizing the Chinese Dream of National Rejuvenation.

To assist officials and the public in studying, understanding, and mastering Xi Jinping’s important statements on the development of socialist culture, we have compiled this current volume.

The content of this volume, extracted from over 70 important documents including speeches, reports, lectures, instructions, directives, and congratulatory messages by Xi Jinping from November 15, 2012, to July 26, 2017, is organized into eight topics, incorporating a total of 361 statements, many of which are being published here for the first time.
